Data Deletion and the right of Data Erasure.

By law everyone has a right to request for their data to be removed from an organisations records.  When doing this you need to contact the organisation who are operating as the Data Controller.

Who is a Data Controller?
When an individual or organisation takes out a subscription on Click they take on the role of the Data Controller.  This means they are responsible for managing all data that is added to Click for themselves and their organisation.  Only they are able to request for data deletion on Click.

Why is this important?
Example
"Super Z" take out a contract to us Click so their staff can complete mandatory training which is needed for regulatory purposes. 
Employee request
  1. An employee from "Super Z" would like their data to be deleted from Click because they want to reduce their digital footprint. 
  2. In this case "Super Z" are "Controller" when managing their employee data.
  3. To request their data deletion they must contact "Super Z" as they are legally responsible for the data and will be able to handle this request.  It might be that "Super Z" has a contractual requirement with their employee that they must complete their training and that if they refuse to allow their data to be held for this then they may lost their employment with "Super Z".
Contract holder request (usually the system admin or business owner)
  1. The contract holder at "Super Z" requests their data to be deleted.  As the authorising person they have the right to make this request and we will work with them to ensure their account is cancelled and that they understand how to download and save any data before it is deleted.
  2. We will also explain any potential repercussions of requesting data deletions - for example we are no longer able to validate any certificates or system activity should this be required by the organisation in the future.
How do you request Data Deletion?
Contract holder: please click on the option to "Add Ticket" and set out your request cancel your account and delete data immediately in the ticket. 
Employees / system users: please contact your manager or system administrator and make a formal request to them.
